The Five Find Outers, fully named as the Five Findouters and Dog, is yet another Enid Blyton children's mystery series. S et in the fictitious village of Peterswood, this is one adventure that will end up hurting your tummy muscles a lot (through laughter, don't get scared). Featuring five kids, its another classic Blyton five member team, but only if you forgot the dog. (If you already know the characters, skip to the last para) Frederick A. Trotteville (a.k.a Fatty), self assumed leader of the team, befriends Larry, Daisy, Philip (Pip) and Elizabeth (Bets), and Fatty's beloved and intelligent dog Buster. The five decide to form a detective club early on in the first book, and from then on don't look back.  Starting from a burnt cottage, the children end up investigating cats, (real, Siamese and Pantomine ones), letters, wax statues, lost necklaces, thieves and missing men etc over their 15 book long journey. To spice things up is one of history's funniest antihe...

Climb The Faraway Tree With Me!! (ePub downloads)

Image
Enid Blyton's best known magical adventure series is all about a very special tree, THE FARAWAY TREE. Thousands of children have climbed the Faraway Tree, ever since Enchanted Wood was published in 1939. Our protagonists are Jo, Bessie and Fanny, around the ages 8-12: their father's gotten a new job in the countryside, and they're excited to live in the country.                  And what do you think they find?? As is obvious from the title of the first book, they very conveniently get a home just beside an enchanted wood (often wish I did). For a few days, they remain apprehensive about entering the mysterious looking wood, but finally their curiosity leads them to wisdom, and they seize their opportunity.      Reading about their wonderful friendships and thrilling adventures brightened my childhood. (I've already read The Folk of The Faraway Tree 4 times already, and am willing to read it again) If you're one of the old guar...

Enid Blyton's Famous Five: Funnily her most famous book series!! (ePub downloads)

Image
The Famous Five are Enid Blyton's greatest and most famous creations. The first book, Five on a Treasure Island, was published in 1942. Like all of her works, this series is also a timeless classic, and has appealed to at least 3 generations of children. If you read it today in 2020, it will still have its original appeal. The times may be different, the technology archaic, but the beauty of the world, and the freedom which the protagonists possess inculcate a love of freedom in the reader. Some concepts might seem weird, but remember these were written more than half a century ago, in a time when cigarette smoking was thought to steady the nerves and when drinking-n-driving was the norm. The books also follow a floating timeline, which means that years pass by without much ageing on the part of the characters. The books feature Julian and his younger siblings Dick and Anne, and their cousin Georgina (who hates her name and wants to be called George). The animal companion for th...

Join another of Blyton's quartets; The Adventurous Four (ePub downloads)

Image
Written during the 2nd World War, this two book series is one of Enid Blyton's best. Featuring four children (again!!), twins Jill and Mary, their elder brother Tom, and their fisher-boy friend Andy. The stories are set in Scotland, and feature the sea frequently. Considering that the stories are written by a British author, set in Britain, during the World War, and feature pictures of the sea on the covers, you may safely assume that boats are obviously there. If you're a land-lover and hate the sea, your outlike might still change after reading these (most likely for the worst). The books give off a patriotic theme, with love for one's country and need to do one's part very prominent. The children do their best to be brave and keep their courage in dangerous situations. Overall, if you want to make children fall in love with reading during quarantine or any other time, Enid Blyton is your best bet!!  How can you help? By reading  my blog , sharing it if you like it...

Enid Blyton created so many groups (or troupes) of young children that it is sometimes difficult to remember which is which. But one fact which cannot be disregarded is that they are all unique. The Secret Series features five books, featuring Peggy, Nora, Mike and Jack.  Peggy and her younger siblings, Mike and Nora, live with their uncle and aunt. Their parents' have been lost, presumed dead. They are ill treated, and forced to work all the time. They befriend a farm boy living in the neighbourhood, an orphan named Jack, and here begins a tale of such adventure and thrill that one can't help jumping up and wishing to be in their places. Our heroes are a lot less dependant on their elders than most others. They decide to take matters into their own hands, and run away !!! The first book is mostly full of their adventures in staying cut off from the world, and how they live a self sufficient life. Living on their own isn't as easy as everyone thinks it is, and winter brings...

Experience pure adventure from within your home; read Enid Blyton's famous and beloved Adventure Series

Image
In her lifetime, Enid Blyton wrote so many books and plays, and created a thousand different characters. One of the reasons her books are such masterpieces is the fact that it seems real. You feel like being in their place, eat snacks with her characters, and sleep under the stars like many of them. You can't help loving the fight they give their troubles. You respect them for it, and admire their zeal, passion, and wit. Added is a dash of Blytonish humor, and you have a perfect recipe, not only for a book, but for an adventure. Reading her books feels like an adventure in and of itself.  The Adventure series is comprised of eight books, depicting one popular destination or place. For example, the first book is the "Island" of Adventure, the 2nd one 'Castle' of Adventure, 3rd one "Valley" of adventure. Our characters are four children and a parrot . This is a quirk for which Enid Blyton is well known. Almost all of her books show human relationship with...
